Snow in Yerushalayim!

Snow in Yerushalayim!

As you can see from the pictures below, there was a real blizzard on this side of the world!  You can also infer from these pics that Chaim was the only brave soul in the Krieser family that headed out in this weather to play!  He had a blast!!

Chanukah 5773

A Freilichen Chanukah to all!  Hope everyone enjoyed the family get-together… Although we weren’t able to join you in person, we’ve been celebrating overseas and wanted to share some clips with you.  Hopefully, there’ll be more to come!

As you'll see below, Chaim is really learning a lot at his mensa Gan for two year olds.
May he continue with H's help.

Freilichen Chanuka!

White 'N Creamy

Its been soooo long since we last updated I almost forgot how this thing works. Boruch Hashem for my tech savvy husband!

Well here we are, back again with some more exciting posts of life here in Holy Eretz Yirsroel and of our family.

Hope You all enjoy the updates, and as always …please remember to comment below in the comment section.

Have a wonderful night.

One of the advantages of Mommy having experience in a pre-school environment is the creative ways she can come up with projects to keep the children busy and entertained.
One of the advantages of having a little sister is that you get to use her as part of your own entertainment!!
Enjoy the video.

Yesh Batorah

Recently, Chaim and Chaya Tehila have become fascinated with a beautiful song that was composed by Shlomie Daskal for the previous Siyum Hashas. It’s been playing on auto loop for almost two weeks now …morning till evening. Although at times it can get kind of monotonous, seeing the expressions on the childrens faces when they sing and dance makes it all worth it.
Hope you enjoy the vid as much as they love dancing :)

NY bagels in the Holy Land!

Having a good bagel for ‘break’fast may not be quite that exciting for most of you. However, here in the Holy Land, the Israelis haven't yet figured out how to master the great New York bagel. The truth is that anyone outside NY really hasn't figured it out either. But that's because they don't know it’s all in the NY water. The Israelis on the other hand think that making a challah in the shape of an 'O' suffices as a reason to call it a bagel. ....I don’t think so!.

So this afternoon while the Mommy was out, Simmy and son decided to surprise Mommy with some hot fresh NY bagels to come home to. (Well really Simmy was in the mood for a good bagel to break his fast on and knew that finding one here wasn't that likely. So like a lot of other things.....he just did it himself! )

Needless to say they turned out quite good....Just look at the smile on Chaya Tehila's face!

What kind of Bagel do you prefer?

Tell us in the comment section and you’ll automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of Simmy's homemade Israeli-NY bagels. :)

The secret to good bagels: Boiling in NY water

All different flavors

Chaim carefully inspecting that Daddy do's it right!

One word: YUM !!!

Chaim got to try it out first with some tuna. It was 'alicious' Mommy !

Chaya Tehila obviously felt the same as her brother and devoured it with Mommy's homemade cream cheese

Chaim could never hold himself back from sharing a good thing with others (well not quite with his sister, but we're working on it)

Hope your fast was meaningful and easy.

Happy 1st Birthday Princess

In honor of his sister's birthday, Chaim made "alicious" cupcakes for each member of his family and decorated them with #1's.  Notice how meticulous he was while putting on the sprinkles, one at a time!

 The End result:

Our lil' princess, bedecked in all her glory, as she awaits her special birthday treat!

Singing happy birthday... and eyeing those cupcakes!

Getting ready to blow out the candle...

YUMMY!! It really is "alicious"...   CT has reached a new milestone on her birthday- eating a cupcake for the first time!

 Good til the last crumb!

All done with mine- now onto the next one.  Think Chaim will mind sharing?!

Well, all in all, it was a wonderful celebration!  Wish you could have been there to join us!

Morning Feedings !

Good Morning,
Feeding time in the morning has become into a really enjoyable routine. Previously it was Mommy trying to juggle between two hungry mouths that couldn’t get enough of what was for breakfast. Boruch Hashem we now have an extra set of friendly hands that has become really capable at pitching in when Mommy could use them. Chaya Tehila seems to enjoy the help just as much!
Enjoy your day and the video below.

Kugel Anyone ?

When Simmy and I were dating, he told me a story about how his mother went up to Toronto for Shabbos one week and he stayed home with Mordechai and Ta. He became the designated cook and made the potato kugel all by himself. Needless to say, I was quite impressed- I mean how many guys his age know how to scramble eggs, let alone a whole potato kugel! He was 25 at the time….
His son, though, had an earlier head start …..
Enjoy!

The biggest Lag B'omer madurah ever....

Lag B'omer is usually a very exciting time of the year around here. Children are all excited about their maduras. Parents have to find ways to entertain their children over the vacation and there is an overall  element of excitement in the air.
This year was no different, save for a little mishap that occurred on Motzei Shabbos at the madura of our local neighborhood shul.....

While Simmy was trying to take some pics of the children at the small fire the neighborhood puts together....

(Chaim wasnt really in the mood... )

Out of the corner of our eyes we noticed a few sparks flying upwards towards the trees nearby.
It didn't seem like that big of a deal at first, and all that were there were sure it would die down on its own...

Little did we know, that wouldn't be the story..

Within ten seconds of the previous picture this is what the trees looked like....

                       And twenty seconds after that....

Within a few short minutes all the surrounding trees caught flame and while boruch Hashem no one was hurt there was significant damage to the neighbors property as well as to the poor trees and surrounding bushes and gardens.

Needless to say, this was the largest lag B'omer fire Maalot Dafna (and probably the whole Yerushalayim) has ever experienced.

Hope you enjoyed yours as well.

Sharing new toys

With much thanks to Buhbi, Chaim has some new and really exciting blocks to play and share with his little sister.

As you’ll see they are really starting to get along wonderfully and Chaim is even learning to share generously with her.
We hope more toys like these can really foster a loving brother and sister relationship.

Enjoy the vid…

(if you turn the sound up a little you can hear their interaction)

Packing for the U.S.

Preparations are underway for our upcoming visit to the states.
Mommy started packing tonight and while tending to Chaya Tehila for a moment Chaim decided to help mommy finish packing.
Of course Chaim had other ideas as to what the most important things were to bring to America…

See for yourself below.

Gut Voch,
Looking forward to seeing y’all soon.

Bird Feeding

Today's activity was feeding the birdies all of our leftover Challah from Shabbos.  While one of the kiddies thought this activity was rather frustrating, the other thought it was hilarious!  Enjoy the video...
